Pinnacle Jazz
Intermediate Jazz Band
Following the formation of the Ascent Big Band, Pinnacle Jazz was formed
in 2022 for intermediate jazz players to experience an excellent ensemble.
The group meets weekly during the school year and participates in two or three concerts, including our Winter and Spring Concerts at the Ent Center for the Arts, a professional-level venue that is an exceptional playing experience for these musicians. During their inaugural year, they participated and won two categories in the Pikes Peak Jazz Festival!
During the season that spans August - May, Pinnacle also plays gigs at venues like Lulu's Downstairs in Manitou Springs, and participates in local jazz festivals. Participants are selected by audition only. If you sing, play alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar , bass guitar, vibes, or drums you can try out for the band! Musicians will be exposed to great jazz literature of varying styles, play in sectionals led by experienced players and educators, learn jazz theory, and give performances. We hope you will join us!
