Concert Dress Guidelines

Requirements for Musicians in All Groups

  • No colored nail polish

  • No prominent jewelry, i.e. no watches, dangly earrings, necklaces, or prominent piercings; only one set of stud earrings in a neutral color is permitted

  • Natural hair colors only (no blues, pinks, etc.)

  • Long hair must be tied back completely out of the face

  • No open-toed shoes or exposed feet

  • No rolled-up sleeves

Musicians who fail to meet the uniform requirements of the CSYSA may not be permitted to perform on the concert.​

Youth Symphony, Ovation Youth Orchestra, & Pikes Peak Wind Symphony

Boys:

  • Tuxedo (no tails)

  • Black cummerbund and bowtie

  • Black dress socks and black dress shoes

Girls:​

  • Black tights, no opaque hose or leggings

  • Black dress flats, no sequins, glitter, buckles, or shine

Boys:

  • CSYSA camp t-shirt (shirt will be provided at Strings Camp in August)

  • Black dress shoes

  • Black dress pants or long black skirt

Mozart Strings Project

All musicians:

  • CSYSA-issued MSP t-shirt (MSP t-shirts are ordered by the office based on the shirt size indicated on each musician’s enrollment packet. Teachers will distribute them to students before the first performance)

  • Black dress shoes
