Pinnacle Jazz was created in 2022 for intermediate jazz musicians following the formation of the Ascent Big Band. The group meets weekly during the school year and performs in two or three concerts, including the Winter and Spring Concerts at the Ent Center for the Arts. In its first year, Pinnacle Jazz won two categories at the Pikes Peak Jazz Festival!
Membership is by audition only. Students who sing or play alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, vibes, or drums are welcome to audition.
Members explore a wide range of jazz styles, play in sectionals led by experienced educators, learn jazz theory, and perform throughout the community.

Bravo! Winds is for intermediate-level wind players and offers both large and small ensemble experiences alongside their school programs. The season begins with a three-day mountain camp where musicians connect with fellow members and work with their conductor and professional coaches.
Throughout the year, musicians build their musical and leadership skills through weekly rehearsals, several concerts, and a short local tour. They also take part in master classes with the conductors of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony and Pikes Peak Wind Symphony, and perform side-by-side with the Pikes Peak Wind Symphony. For many, Bravo! Winds provides their first chance to perform in our Holiday and Spring concerts.
Bravo! Winds is conducted by Brian Margrave.
The Pikes Peak Wind Symphony, formed in 2000, is for advanced wind musicians. The season begins with a three-day mountain camp where members connect and work intensively with their conductor and coaches. Throughout the year, musicians develop their skills through weekly large-group and sectional rehearsals with professional musicians, leading up to three or four community concerts—two held at the Pikes Peak Center.
The ensemble also tours regionally, nationally, and internationally. Past tours include performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and international festivals in Japan and Costa Rica. Placement is by audition and based on ability, not age.
Pikes Peak Winds is conducted by Jack Yonce.
