Mozart String Project

The Mozart String Project (Little Mozart) was started in 1994 by the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony in response to requests from families who lived in school districts without elementary string programs.  Students come to class 2 days a week and have 3 joint concerts with students from all sites coming together to perform.  We also perform with and can feed into Eagleview and DCC Middle School Orchestras, High School orchestras, and the 5 Youth Symphony audition groups.  NOTE:  Our top Youth Symphony audition group has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and at the Sydney Opera House in Australia!

Beginning and intermediate string instruction for 3rd - 5th graders
(2nd graders considered too!) Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass!

D20 CLASS SITES:   CLASSES START WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 19th!
(Note:  Dates and times my be adjusted based upon enrollment!)

ROCKRIMMON AREA SITE:  at CTK Lutheran Church, 950 Vindicator Dr, across from Eagleview Middle School,   Classes are 2 x week on MONDAY AND WEDNESDAYS 

            4:00 - 5:00pm    Beginning classes
            5:10 - 6:10pm    Another Beginning class?  an Intermediate class?

TCA AREA SITE:   at Academy Christian Church, 1635 Old Ranch Rd, SE corner of Hwy 83 and Old Ranch.  Classes are 2 x week on TUESDAY AND THURSDAYS

            4:00 - 5:00pm    Beginning Violin/Viola class and Beginning Cello/Bass class
            5:10 - 6:10pm    Beginning Violin/Viola class and Intermediate class

COST:
Our program is $400 for the entire school year of instruction (This comes out to less than $7.00/hour!)   We don't want cost to keep someone from participating, so there is a payment plan available as well as financial aid for those who are eligible.  Students also participate in a fundraiser to keep prices low.  NOTE:  Most families rent instruments from Graner Music.

** 6:00pm Thursday, September 8th at Academy Christian Church
    (1635 Old Ranch Rd, SOUTHEAST corner of Voyager Pkwy (Hwy 83) and Old Ranch)
    NOTE: Park and enter by Southwest corner of church - we are in the
        modular buildings!

At the enrollment meetings, we will demonstrate the instruments, tell you more about our program and give you the opportunity to sign up.   Graner Music will be there so your child can be sized for an instrument and you can rent them if you wish.   If you can't come to the meeting, I can email you the registration packet and you can go to Graner Music to rent an instrument:     Graner Music, 574-2001,  4460 Barnes Road, 80917
