Daryl Counsell is a public school orchestra teacher who is presently employed by Colorado Springs School District 11. His teaching career has taken him to Montana, Idaho, Colorado and Arizona. During that time, he has taught elementary, middle school and high school orchestra classes. Mr. Counsell earned his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of Montana in 1983. His first teaching position was with the Moscow, Idaho Public School District. While there, he attended the University of Idaho and studied violin under Mr. Stephen Folks. In 1987, he accepted a teaching position in Ft. Morgan, Colorado and during that time he studied violin under Mr. Richard Fuchs at the University of Northern Colorado. In 1990, he completed his Masters of Music Education Degree at the University of Northern Colorado. Presently, he is working in the Colorado Springs School District 11 where he has taught elementary, middle and high school level orchestra. He also works with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association as a teacher for the Mozart String Program, which is a beginning orchestra program offered in District 20, Woodland Park, and the Global Village Academy. He is also the conductor of the Wolfgang String Orchestra.
